2016 ASAC FISHING TOURNAMENT SEASON

NJBBA FISHING TEAM  AND ASAC UPDATE

The 2016 ASAC Tournament season is underway. It opened on May 7, with Shaner Tournament, but somebody forgot to inform the fish, not a fish was caught. So ASAC awarded every team with 5 points.

 

The next tournament was the Delaware Valley Surf Anglers Tournament held the following week May 14. The fish showed up this week and RH Custom Rods took top honors. Second place went to Fishin' Fuzz with Merchantville #2 coming in 3rd. The New Jersey Beach Buggy Fishing Team #1 finished tied for 9th place.

 

On May 21, the final spring season came to an end with the Surf and Land Tournament. Coming in first place was the South Jersey Surfcasters #1 team, Second place went to the Ocean County Fishing Club (Blue), and rounding out the top three was Merchantville #2. The NJBBA #1 fishing team finished in 6th.

 

 Starting the second half of the tournament season on September 17,  was the Women's Surf Fishing Club held in Brigantine, NJ. South Jersey Surf Casters "A" took first place with Creek Keeper coming in second. Rounding out the top three was Ocean County Fishing Club Blue.

 

Long Beach Island Fishing Club held the next tournament on September 24, in Harvey Cedars, NJ. The New Jersey Beach Buggy fishing team came in first place. Second place went to South Jersey Surf Casters "A" and third place went to the other South Jersey Surf Caster "B" team.

 

On October 8, the tournament moved to North Wildwood run by the Pennsauken Club. RH Custom Rods came in first place with Ocean County Fishing Club Blue coming in second and South Jersey Surf Casters "A" placing third.

 

New Jersey Beach Buggy Association's "Great Fall Classic" was the next tournament held also in North Wildwood on October 15. For the second week in a row RH Custom Rods took first place. Second place went to South Jersey Surf Caster "A" and I Bass 360 rounding out the field of three.

 

October 22 was the Ocean City Fishing Club Tournament was held in Ocean City, NJ

First Place went to the Delaware Valley Surf Anglers; with second place going to Merchantville #1 team and rounding out the top three was Creep Keepers. 

 

Hudson River Fishmen's Association held in Seaside Park, NJ on November 12.


The final top six teams in ASAC's 2016 season tournaments are as follows:

Congratulations Team #1 for capturing your 4th title in 2015

 

On 11/14/15, the final tournament was held for 2015, the Hudson River Tournament held in Seaside Park, NJ. With a great showing of over 300 anglers, 68 fishing teams and 3 individual teams. Team RH Custom Rods claimed the number one spot with a total of 728.50 points. South Jersey Surf Casters #1 team came in 2nd place with 682.75 points. With this impressive showing it moved them past Merchantville #1 for second place in the final ASAC standings. But the biggest story of all was the New Jersey Fishing Team #1 coming in 3rd place with 356.75 points. With this 3rd place finish and the dedication of these anglers, for the FOURTH YEAR IN A ROW, NJBBA captured 1st place in ASAC's overall standings for 2015. Congratulations Kurt Renart, Kevin and Lynda Greaves, Joe McGowan, Boli Mam and Ralph Delucca. Moving on 4th place honors went to Ocean City Fishing Club Blue with 333.50 points and rounding out the top five teams and what a great year they had, Merchantville #1 team with 306.75.
